so i was at UIA attending a fundraising dinner, courtesy of my mom who paid for it, when we were greeted by several girls/ladies seeming all glamorous for a charity event. quite 'amused' by that, i later found that the attendees, of the fairer sex, were dressed even more fashionable than the usherers i saw earlier.
and this is for a fundraising dinner to build a new mosque for a nearby neighbourhood, held at an Islamic university. and the dinner was followed by a forum by panelists such as Ust. Zaharuddin and Ust. Zahazan (and Prof. Muhaya). for a while, i was a bit confused.
but, come to think about it, with A-list 'celebrities' as panelists, and the forum moderator was Imam Muda Asyraf, maybe that was a night of glamour. not to mention that the moon eclipse also happened the same night. ada feel gitew. twilight bagai.
but the forum was a success, i have to say. was a bit disappointed that the Q&A session afterwards were filled with questions unrelated to the topic, as if they were not really listening to what the talk is all about. but i enjoyed it a lot. very enlightening.
but the main reason why i am writing about this. so i was wondering, when the emcee was introducing Imam Muda Asyraf, he mentioned the title "Imam Muda". and i thought, wow, Astro has been so influential, every single reality show that they created, will be having a lasting effect (or to most AF contestants, a few months of fame, before reality checks in) on some people.
it's like, astro is now a big part of our life.
and then comes the next question. i just posted this on my wall. it was about how Imam Muda Asyraf got his permanent Imam Muda title, after winning the Imam Muda tv show not so long ago. and it's the same as other winners or participants of astro shows, like Raja Lawak, AF and whatnot. so the question is, for contestant Firuz of Ustazah Pilihan, what will we call her after this? do we stick to the normal 'ustazah' title, or astro will add 'pilihan' to her official name? a bit like as if she's the chosen one, the chosen ustazah, Firuz the chosen ustazah.
except, when it's in Malay, it'll be "Ustazah Pilihan Firuz", and it doesn't sound right at all.
astro, enriching people's life. katanye.
