so i was doing my slides for my Research presentation, when an email came in. here's the excerpt:
Good day Mushana Aisamuddin,
I’m XYZ from GLCP. I’ve found your blog while searching for Mushana ABC Mustafa’s contact details for a speaking invitation to our Risk Management Away Day. From what I’ve read, he’s your elder brother. So, may I ask you a favor? Could you please provide us his official email address & phone number so that we could reach Mushana ABC directly?
Your prompt reply is highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance J
Best Regards,
Nor XYZ

SAY WHAAATTTT??? turns out my blog is still useful, even for reasons i would never have imagined.
and yes, it's kinda... dodgy? the theme of the email looks like something from a *insert country from a continent famous for its... you know* scammer. but the details are too... well, detailed, it just looks very genuine. i called my brother to inform him about this email. and he was like, "WTH?" jugak. before questioning, "why didn't she just contact BNM?", where he worked, before later remarked "no wait... where does she get my name in the first place?"
which is true, especially the latter.
i try to reason, saying that she could still be a trainee as written in the email, hence probably not too familiar with the usual procedures when it comes to such thing. in the end we entertained her request, and she promptly replied to thank me.
i still haven't asked my brother what happened next. it would be very interesting to know. i'll keep you posted on that.
heh. to that certain Miss XYZ. if you somehow still returns to this blog and happen to read this... hehe, hope you don't mind this post. but this incident is too blogworthy, it just has to be recorded here.
that email is definitely a keeper.
