it was the second week. happening much? well, pretty.
as far as i can remember, the last week was more classes and classes, with the highlight being the one whole day session with seniors. that one had no classes at all, but more activities, which made it more memorable than the usual mundane classes. yeah the classes are so ordinary, i had to take around 2 minutes to try and recall what classes did i have on monday/tuesday. which was a 2-day session named "cents and sensibility", supposedly on how to manage your money. but i don't think i'm any wiser in that respect.
what i am sure i'm wiser than before is on how i would like to do my rotations after we're done with the classes. while this may be subjected to approvals from the superiors, but i would like to do some stints at any division or unit or subsidiaries that deal with product development, which is not covered in the rotation schedules. the one day session with seniors have enlightened me a little bit more on what i know about the departments in PNB, adding to what i already knew from stories from Nina and Dann.
that one day session also helped me (and i'm sure the rest of us new trainees) to prepare ourselves from the office politics that we are going to face one we start working. that's not that much fun, but it's kinda, enlightening. the rest are mainly a little networking, and further insights into what PNB and all its core departments are all about.
and free food for the day.
speaking about food. what should be of your interest is what i eat everyday at work. with the exception of that one day of free food from breakfest to hi-tea, for the past 2 weeks, usually i will be having lunch at that one small stall inside the foodcourt at Darby Park's "Jumpa", with the least number of customers. dann claimed that it's the cheapest among all; the first time i went there, on dann's recommendation, i paid only rm3.50. but i've never got that price anymore after that, with the cheapest is always RM4. it's nasi campur, with a piece of chicken, some vegie, and papadom. not so extravagant, but hey beggars can't be choosers.
and for the past 2 Fridays, i had had the RM5 nasi briyani, sold at one of the stalls set up in front of Tabung Haji. dirt cheap, if you asked me, for a nasi briyani. there's another nasi campur stall, but the queue is always very long, i can't quite figure out why it's so special.
oh. if there's one more thing about this week, it is how i tried to fit in my gym regime into my daily schedule. i mentioned in the last post about how i didn't go to the gym for the whole of last week. what i managed to do this week was 3 days at the gym, quite late in the evening, at 9pm onwards. just had to, as i needed to prepare for another 10km run at Putrajaya just last night. but overall i think i can figure out something about my gym regime for the next few weeks left before my gym contract ends.
now i just need to balance out how to add in my other sports activities, such as tennis, table tennis and maybe even badminton into my daily schedule, now that i have a free facility to use (excluding tennis). i've had futsal fixed every thursday, but that's okay because that day is usually my off day in my gym workout schedule. however the rest of them have to be squeezed in somewhere. maybe i'll have to go back late and use the 5-7 slot that i now use to have some rest. hm, i dunno. i still need to keep doing my workout routine, or i'll risk not being able to fit in my trousers. hmm.
more of last week. naturally, as time goes, i'm now getting closer to more people from my batch of fellow trainees. it still feels abit awkward actually, in that in classes i could go all chirpy with some of them that i know less well, but outside of it, say on the way to the station or even when i'm on the same train as some of them, they would be no different to the rest of the strangers on the LRT or on the platform.
i have no real explanations to that.
i'm slowly but surely getting my feet on the ground, now what i need is to get back to socializing with my old friends, who are not in PNB. last week i had to forego any plans at night to give more time to my 10km run training. but now that i have pushed that one aside, maybe i could go for a dinner this week. and a movie also. i dunno.
and it's payday soon!
p/s: azmir, thanks for the reminder. it depends on how quickly i can settle down, but weekly is the minimum kot. that's pretty much like nothing, compared to the usual frequency all this while. but, tengok ah. haha. it depends on internet connection jugak kot. i now have plenty of time to blog daily. just don't have mobile internet to connect my ipad to.
