but the loudest cry is for the live feed or live ticker or whatever they're calling it, that small box on the top right corner that constantly updates itself with almost every single thing that you're doing; likes, comments, being tagged, i dunno, stuff that happens on facebook. it's just that, now people are made aware of it, (no) thanks to that small, lively box.
and to continue with the theme of the last post, now i want to complain about some rumours going around. you know, the repost this repost that thingy. so the past few hours, you will see some of your friends posting this kind of message on their wall:
Dear FB friends: Please hover over my name here, wait for the box to load and then hover over the "Subscribe" link. Then uncheck the "Comments and likes" choice. I would rather my comments on friends' posts were not made public. Thanks! Then repost if you don't want your EVERY MOVE posted in the right sidebar for all and sundry to see. Remember to repost this and tag me (so I can do the same for you). Thank you.correct? seen it?
now here's a counter repost.

but to be honest, i don't care so much which one is right which one is wrong, technically. as in, if the thing really works, the unsubscribe to likes and comments and whatnot. i tend to agree with the latter's note that actually all of those are already stuff that has been made public by facebook before-revamp, because if you're rajin enough to check your news feed before this, the "top news" one, sometimes they do show feed about you liking stuff or commenting on people's status or photos.
point is, it's nothing new. it's just, now they're more... presentable, and prominent.
but what annoys me is the reason(s) that people used when they say that they're not in favour of this new feature. they said that it's too stalker-esque, too creepy. they don't want any people to know what they're doing on facebook. they want to like stuff and comment on posts and photos, but they're feeling so insecure about it. they don't want ANY people to know it.
well... excuse me. ANY people? those likes and comments by yours are only visible to your friends, people you added or approved as friends by yourself. and now you regard us/them as "ANY people"? like we're the creepy stalkers, who follow every single thing that you're doing?
EXCUSE ME?
now let me tell you some things.
1. if you don't find it comfortable to have me as a friend who you think might be the one following every single thing that you're doing, simple. just unfriend me. i'm sorry that you added/approved a stalker as your friend, it's my fault that i'm actually a creepy guy.
2. yes, i totally find it fascinating to follow every single thing on that live ticker; i'm constantly on the lookout for your likes, for your comments. it's something that i really really want to know. WTF man? when i stalk, i don't look for your live comments or likes. i'm not going to tell you what i would do, but those are totally NOT what i would be doing.
3. the technicality of it. i believe what that guy in the link i posted said. it just won't work. stop feeling so insecure about it, and just get on with it. if you don't like it, then just leave it. google+ is always there to welcome you.
4. you think you're that hot that people want to know what you're commenting or liking? grow up dude, and get real. why would we be interested in your comments? what benefits can they give us?
5. next time, be more careful who you're adding as friends. and it's called 'friends' for a reason. we're not just your tools in achieving popularity, by making you look like you have hundreds of friends. back to no.1; when you have doubts, unfriend me.
6. change the settings yourself; you can actually control yourself what info of yours can be made available to public, and what is not. don't burden people with things that you yourself are lazy to do. what, you expect all hundreds of your friends should do you a favour by doing that thing that you asked them to do? and if he/she also has hundreds friends, and each one of them asked them to do like what you asked them to do, then susah la.
so, stop all those complaining about facebook's new feature. just because you're not creative and forward thinking enuff as those people in Palo Alto, doesn't mean that you should complain about what they're doing. be a good boy, and just enjoy what you have right now.
