these would be my tweet for the past 24-48 hours, if i had a twitter account. they could also be my facebook status, which account i have, but i'm not the type of person who would constantly update people (on facebook... we know that's not the case here with the blog) about every single thing that has happened in my life.

news.

it's been a while since this blog was the subject of a hate campaign by my friends, due to its transparent nature of revealing everything that's reveal-able about someone. so the one above is to rekindle the blog's past identity that's fast fading into something soft and less controversial.
by the way. expect some related news. hehe.

Phantasy
Ginger Mourinho was quoted as saying this last night.
yes i'm kinda a fan of Bolton Wanderers... did you know that under Big Sam, they qualified for Europa League (then UEFA Cup) two years in a row? on the second year, they were battling with relegations all the same time as they were (not) challenging for continental honours.
looks like they're gonna do the same thing (avoiding relegation, not playing in Europe) all over again next year.
When Klas scores - and it is a fantastic goal and we knew what we were getting with Ivan - even then you are getting 'Megson, Megson, sign him up'. Who do they think brought him here in the first place?like his (nick)name-sake, he really has a fondness on words.

whenever i'm down, this video (first 4 seconds) will always cheer me up.
Happy Birthday, Muhammad Firdaus Abdul Rahim. sorry it's belated, i was away meeting Tok Guru Nik Aziz on your birthday. eventhough i am seeing a person of his calibre, the birthday boy was always in my heart. heh.
Sani Express
before i bought my ticket, i asked kday which bus company should i board to go to KB the other day. after initially suggested "Brabus", he said i should try Sani Express.
i know i haven't yet updated about my KB trip. but let me give you a small part about it. the bus journey was horrendous, at least to me. the bus vibrates a lot due to bumps, my knees were aching. and the seats were unable to be inclined a lot, and they do not have leg rest... which is the main reason why the knees were aching because the legs were hanging, and it hurts a lot when the bus is constantly shaking for the best part of the 9 hours trip.
yeah the seats are wider, and they're leather. but all those count for nothing when i kept on waking up after every one hour.
i went back to KL on board a Firefly, because i thought of coming back fresh due for a planned trip to Mersing right after the KB trip. and also because my brother said that it's a much safer option than the bus. i know this is just an isolated case, but he was proven right.
it's even more freaky when it's exactly the same bus company that i boarded.
Express Bus Crash Killed 10.
however, i have to also point out that this one is purely due to human error, and the bus is in the most drive-able condition possible. it has just been serviced 3 months ago, it was equipped with a (functioning) speed limiter, and the bus has no previous traffic summonses. praises must go to Sani Express for ensuring the maximum safety for their bus... the bus driver was even tested negative for alcohol and drugs, meaning they have a responsible employment policy. it's just (okay 'just' may not be the most suitable word, but you get what i mean) that he's a bit sleepy he dozed off.
i disagree with the Perak MB's suggestion to ask the government to consider banning night trips. he has not tried the day journey from KL to KB, so he must not know how crazy it is to be on board an express bus for 9 hours, unable to do anything including sleeping.

Hotel Service
stupid Google, can't even find me a decent place to stay over in KB.
who would've thought that in the end i had to choose between over-50 hotels and another over-50 guest house that are listed on Kelantan state government portal, for only a night stay?
impressive, in terms of the information provided by the Tourism Info Centre. however, not so user-friendly... they may have a list, but we can't sort or filter them according to our needs.
so, with 9 hours before my bus departs, i have to go through all the 100+ accommodations.

Baris Hilton
a famous Ms Hilton is, well, famously known as a socialite. that is because she effectively had not done anything meaningful, except for, well, you know. nothing.
i never wanted to be anything like that. however, the past few days i think i am a socialite. as in, i have been socialising quite a lot with friends and acquaintances alike. which in a way also contributed to the relative absence of updates in this blog.
things started on Saturday. in the morning, i went to Bangi to attend a forum organized by iluvislam.com and chaired by none other than KY06 Most -then- Eligible Bachelorette (tq cik Iliyana for pointing that one out), soon-to-be Mrs Abn a.k.a. Cik Zaffan Khalid. however the socialising part did not involve her at all, other than a few calls giving her direction to get to the event. i met Im Koyube, Tenuk and Shafiq Ashraf, all are part of the organizing team. Md. Shah was also there with wife and ma-in-law. Dzar also dropped by.
in the evening i went to Shah Alam to attend (only the final part of) a talk by Dr Yusuf Qardhawi at the State's Mosque. and my, it was like the biggest crowd i've ever seen in a religious talk. i left home only after Maghrib prayer, hence the missing out on most parts of the talk. i know Zaffan is also attending this one, but it didn't matter much... haha. cik Sarah Sg. Udang also decided to attend at the very last minute... she was my reference in terms of traffic as she left quite late also. However the only person i planned to see is Apak, whom i met after the talk. we also bumped into man-of-the-moment Abn, and Anas Sofian at Pelita, plaza Masalam. me and apak later made way to another mapley because apak wanted to have Naan and Tandoori.
on Sunday morning, i went to my sister's house to send some stuff. after that, i went to Kajang to take Grace's pair of tickets for Glam Slam from Ellie, before i met Bonzer at Bangi. due to that unforeseen circumstances -gonna watch tennis later that night-, i had to cancel off my plan to go to Alia' place. sorry Alia!
almost an hour with Bonzer, the meeting was cut short because it was about to rain, and he had to go back or he'll be drenched. i went back, took a short nap, showered etc and then fetched Papai at Bistari Begonia (corny gila nama, i know) to watch tennis at Malawati Stadium, Shah Alam, until quite late.
then on Monday, i went to watch Avatar and have Subway lunch with Noden. and that completed my whole schedule of socialising. today i didn't plan to meet anybody. and tomorrow night i'll be going to Kota Bharu, even when there was this piece of news, which may -or may not- have some effects since the bus passes by Kuala Krai. pray for my safe journey. thanks.
i'll be coming back on Friday night on board a Firefly... no, not Ray the firefly from Bayou. i'm expecting my brother to help fetch me at Subang. otherwise i'll be doomed.
then on Saturday, insya Allah, i'll make my way to Mersing to attend an ex high school-mate's wedding. it could well be a day trip, if there's not much taker for a plan to sleep over at Mersing. otherwise i should be moving back on Sunday morning, to attend another wedding at Putrajaya... Nana's at her husband's side. oh she's an ex classmate in Block 1 and 2 Double Maths in college.
my parents will be back later in the evening on that same day. and things should be back as usual by then.
oh. Tuan Haji Judene dah balik. korang boleh mintak restu dekat dia by going to his place in Bukit Beruntung. haha. sebab dia taknak balik Sentul lagi until next year.

DDD: 9 days left.
last night, when i was going down the stairs to go out for dinner, i felt a pain on the left knee. and it is still there at the time of writing.
that contributes to the absence of any heavy activities in the morning and evening. i planned to go to Tasik Titiwangsa for jogging, but had to cancel that one out, and feeling contented with 2 games of bowling. not the best of substitute, but it's still a sport, ya' know.
then in the evening, after lengthy chat with Joey, i decided to go out for the now-daily jogging at UIA. mind you, the knee is still aching. but halfway to UIA, at Batu 7, the rain droplets came down, and by the time i reached the UIA entrance, it's already a downpour. it's almost 6pm, so i decided that maybe i should try Titiwangsa... fair enuff, when i reached there, KL hasn't yet rained. however, it's public holiday, which i always seemed to forget. so i couldn't get a parking spot.
my aching left knee gets a whole day of rest. err, actually it's gonna get another day off tomorrow, as i have quite a full schedule tomorrow for non-physical stuff. oh no. not good. maybe i should slip in some jogging in the morning before i head to Bangi.
done with the workout, to the cash details. because i never remembered that 1st of Muharram is public holiday, i had to pay RM12 for 2 games of bowling today... my bowling buddy Adrian rightfully blamed me for that. "i thought YOU would know." gile menyesal tak sudah... RM12 can give us 4-5 games on any other days. ini after 2 gamhes, baru nak panas, dah kena stop.
then parking RM1, plus toll charges RM2 (the remaining RM1.20 for LDP is paid using the changes kept in the car).
the tummy was protesting aggresively today. however i had to resist because of the lack of workout in the morning. but for dinner of course i have to eat something since i haven't eaten anything for the day. we went to Greenwood, there's a row of tomyam shops near the bus depot. the bill is RM16 for 2 nasi goreng USA, one of which with additional daging merah, and 2 glasses of fruit juice.
and i bought myself one bus ticket to Kota Bharu on 23rd of December at 9.50pm, on board Sani Express as recommended by kaede. for what? i have no clear idea. RM43, but of course not going to the already limited allowance account.
nak pesan apa2 from bazar buluh kubu, pasar siti khadijah, or even KB Mall? pieces of kereta yang fell from the sky maybe?
on a totally unrelated item. Birmingham City FC newsletter is sent on a higher frequency lately. possibly riding on their very positive form of late... winning their last 5 matches. why i got their newsletter? because i contemplated buying season pass for the doomed 2007/08 season. heh.

10 days left.
after missing too many days, i've kinda lost count of the number of days, i can't be bothered to check back how many days have lapsed. so let's just do the easiest thing out there: count backwards.
27-26-25-24-23-22-21-20-19-18-17, which is today. so from 27 to 18, ade 10 hari. so, 10 more days to go.
but before that, we shall recollect what happened today and yesterday, which i didn't have time to update on the dot.
yesterday was supposedly a beginning of The Final Push, which already started the day before with that 11 laps of jogging right after my final paper. and i stick to the plan... we played basketball from 7.45am until around 10. it wasn't really a full 2 hours workout as i sprained my ankle halfway thru, resulted in around 30 mins of 'substitution' before i went back to the court. and i had to tone down the intensity or i risked aggravating my injury (a term made familiar if you're a fan of soccernet)... i did more shots instead of drives. less strain on the ankle.
but a refreshing session, nevertheless. The Final Push well on its way.
then in the afternoon, i just had maggi mee... a sensible choice given that i just finished 'auditing' our account, which thankfully didn't show any 'reds', but left me with just RM85 for the next 11 days. which leaves me with roughly RM8 per day. maggi mee is quite a good beginning to make sure that i'll survive with the slightly limited budget. slight because the initial budget was RM12. so it didn't make much difference actually.
however, need me to tell you that later on the night i had another meal. but that's because i think the maggi lunch is 'negligable', and also because of the double amount of workout... after Asar, i went back to UIA and did 7 consecutive laps non-stop, and improvement from 6 yesterday. and maybe it's worth noted that i actually lost count on the number of laps, it could easily be 8 also.
anyhow, the 8 laps were backed or compensated with a Nasi Goreng Kampung Pataya and an ABC at Melawati. the bill is RM13, including my brother's nasi ayam (RM3.50) and drinks which i can't remember what. so that makes it roughly RM6.50 for each of us, although the truth is my part for that night's dinner is more than that.
that was yesterday. of course there was also the movie (RM7 + RM1 parking) escapade as i mentioned earlier in a separate post. then, this is today.
like yesterday, we had basketball again, although that should stop by tomorrow. today it's just a little more than one hour, although i have to also mention this time it's more 'heavy' because there's just 6 people playing instead of 9 yesterday. but for some reasons, i sweated extraordinarily more than usual... by the end of the session, even the socks are wet.
err, too much info ke? but you get the point. around an hour of workout.
like yesterday, lunch is another maggi mee. if yesterday it was accompanied with 2 frankfurters, today it's maggi with an egg. telur from yesterday night grocery shopping at Giant.
after zuhur, i went straight to the bed and slept for 3 hours. too tired, and also sleep-deprived watching Liverpool's second half against Wigan, and had to play basketball early in the morning. but after waking up and performed Asar prayer, i went to UIA.
this time around it's just 5 laps of jogging and one lap of walking, before the rain came pouring down. i blame the low number of laps (before the 'pit-stop' for sips of drinks) on the morning workout, which made me sleep in the afternoon for 3 hours, and later woke up with a headache.
then for dinner, i had kuey teow goreng with watermelon juice. grand total is RM13.70, the opposite of the day before i.e. the bulk of the bill is my brother's, who got himself nasi paprik campur and carrot susu.
now that we're done with the financial and food consumption parts, we shall go to the weight scale. if you noticed, the last reading was -2kg, after an increase of 4kg due to intake of junkies. however, yesterday, it was -5kg! maybe the 11 laps really did work.
then, today, i stepped up to see that it's gone down further to -7kg!!! false alarm... that's after the morning basketball. but after the maggi lunch, it's -6kg. heh. but still. at least the number 7 is already reached. after 30 days (because today there's still 10 days left), 5 days more than OBS standard course, i've reduced as much as when i went to OBS. wohoo!
next up. to reach that weight i achieved right after OBS. a good 5kg. can i do it? half a kilo a day?
the third milestone, which is also the last, now looks very improbable... it's a further 3kg more than the next target. demn.

to Nuur Zaffan Khalid, and Azlan Bin Nazari a.k.a. abn. still more than 3 months away, but it's already official.
semoga ikatan kalian berdua diberkati Allah. which consequently will lead to many more happy things :D

movie review: The Princess and The Frog
AWESOME!!! but before that, we shall go with the review udon's style. which is, by including everything about it, even the unrelated ones.
i have long wanted to watch this... that massive billboard near the Subang Jaya exit on NKVE really caught my attention and interest. i mean, when was the last time you watched a Disney 'classical' fairy tale? and if you noticed, i also mentioned about the movie in my Ninja Assassin review. so i have always wanted to watch it, it's been in my head for quite some time.
initially i was supposed to meet someone today, so that's even better for the plan to watch the movie. but she 'eloped'. but i don't care. i just have to watch it, no matter what.
i only left house after Zuhr prayer, gambling that the next show available would be at 2.30pm. (geez... how often do you see 'prayer' and 'gambling' in the same sentence?). as usual, i went to 1Utama, my favourite place to watch movies.
but to leave home to a popular shopping place at only 2pm is quite a fatal mistake. more so when it's school holiday. when i arrived, my favourite spot in the 4th floor parking is already taken... in fact the whole floor was occupied, i had to go to the roof (5th floor), but still near to UBowl and GSC.
so after going thru the noisy game arcade area, i reached GSC ticket counters, and checked for the timetable. it was 2.20, i'm banking on them to show the next one at 2.30 or 3pm. turned out the next show of The Princess and The Frog is at 4.20pm. wth?
cineleisure jom? nah, too far. there's still TGV at the old wing, i almost forgot that. further proof of how forgotten the old wing of 1utama. heh.
anyway, after almost 5 mins of walking (another reason why old wing -and TGV- is quite deserted compared to its sibling), i reached TGV ticket counters, and there's only another person ahead of me in the queue. and more importantly, the next show is at 2.30pm. just nice! paid RM7... it's wednesday. ticket for one adult.
yes, one adult. only. i was gonna watch it alone. several reasons for that. one, because it was kinda last minute arrangement (no arrangement at all pun sebenarnya). two, too lazy to ask around... and would irrationally be upset if people do not want to watch the same movie and suggested other crappy movie instead. three, why not? i'm not a kid who needs parents' company.
anyway, one reminder if you want to watch the movie anytime soon: if possible, go for the midnight show. theoretically that should have less children watching. you know how annoying it can be when kids are allowed to enter a cinema. and since this is a Disney movie... you are warned. however i didn't have problems with them... the cinema is small enough for the Dolby surround sound to drown the noise coming from the restless kids.
since the ticket was bought last minute, even at TGV, there weren't empty seats around... in fact i was the one who fitted in to the still available ones... i was seated next to a family of 3: ma, son and daughter... the mother instructed the boy to sit right beside me, while the girl sat furthest from me. heh.
now... to the movie. in my mind, it's already imprinted the word "old skool, 2D movie" and the 4-star rating given by The Star a couple of days after it was first screened. and true enuff, it stuck in my head throughout the movie. it simply is awesome. and 2D definitely rocks big time compared to Pixar. heh.
by the way my review won't be too much other than just elaborating a little bit on the "old skool" part. seriously, this movie is all about classic Disney movie. if you have been loving all those classical Disney fairy tales, and especially dislike Barbie's 3D princess stories, then you must watch this.
my essence of loving this movie is because it sticks to the spirit of classic Disney fairy tales... it's classic, it's a fairy tale, and it's Disney's. i know that's like a big DUH!, but those are what i found very appealing.
yes there's a little special twist from the stereotypical Princess and Frog tale, but essentially it adheres to the original story, and that's sweet. and classic... well. it has all the usual ingredients of a classic movie. introduction to the story. conflicts as the story goes on. typical but not stereotypical dark villain. handsome, prince charming (not-so, actually. authentic!!) . big house... to substitute castle. music (the awesomeness: jazz! the foot was found tapping quite a number of times) and dances here and there. dance party. talking animals. cheers all the way. climax and tears in between. but a happy ending. aaawwwhhh~
seriously, i was frequently affected by quite a number of scenes in the movie. i have no idea why. could a classic Disney movie be that emotionally affecting?
however, one aspect that you need to keep in mind is that, afterall, this is a cartoon. the kids beside me never uttered lots of necessary questions. but the mother did. "how come bla bla", "why they bla bla". "can't they just bla bla". OH SHUT UP!! I KNOW YOU'RE TOO MATURED EVERYTHING even the smallest details SEEMS ILLOGICAL. but this is just a fairy tales, for fairy's sake. haih emo plak tiba2. apologies for that.
but yeah. if you were never a fan of cartoon, then forget about watching it.
but i am strongly suggesting you to go watch it. it's especially nice and sweet to watch. you can go watch alone, that's an option. but if you can watch it with your partner, that would be even better... sometimes we've forgotten that love can be very simple it's also there in kids' fairy tales. and of course, it's U-rated i.e. it's a fun watch for the kids too. so, everyone. EVERYone. head to your nearest panggung wayang bergambar (pawagam) to watch The Princess and The Frog.
and oh, you can also ajak me. i especially do not mind watching this second time. even third.

account update
ya Allah, udon. engkau ni buat akaun ke ape? orang kalau nak update akaun, buat check and balance. ini pegi isi details je, buat apa?
haih. berjam2 trace back. but at least they're now in a more presentable form.
esok insya Allah akan tengok kembali. tapi sekali imbas, ada lagi duit dalam bank. heh.

DDD let's count backwards
this is a quick update on the financial details of the past few days since i last updated DDD... which was more than 2 days ago i think. starting from saturday midnight.
the last words were "buying ration for some midnight football". i bought 3 cans of Light Coke (RM1.60 each) and 2 packs of Twisties Chipster (RM2.70 each), because Twisties corn is not sold for some reasons at Shell Select. total bill: RM10.20. rounding mechanism makes that RM11.
turned out it was a good day (midnight malaysian time) if you're a Midlander... all three Premier League clubs from the Midlands, Aston Villa, Birmingham City and Wolves won their respective matches. but let's not talk about that, as i have other more pressing matters now.
on Sunday, i had breakfast with Nina at Old Town... that's RM10 for Nasi Lemak and Black Tea. but excluding service charges, which Nina paid for.
my brother experimented cooking, but i refused to try his end result. not due to fear of food poisoning, but rather because of the meal i already had in the morning. for dinner, we went to Melawati. RM14 for rice with tomyam, ayam masak merah and telur dadar together with Len Chee Kang and Nescafe Ais. budget wise, i think that's not a bad place to go. that's just RM7 each, well within our allocated budget.
later after that we went to Giant supermarket to buy ourselves more rations for another night of blockbuster football. RM14 of junkies.
on Monday, i left RM20 for my brother, while i had brunch for RM2.50... nasi goreng dekat kafe. my brother didn't come back by the time i got back. so i decided to finish up that final piece of chicken that he left for me the day before. turned out some parts of the drumstick were still raw. haha.
today is tuesday. i had another paper, so nothing was consumed until after exams. oh perhaps i haven't told you how much i have gained during the exams period. first i couldn't do any workout or risk being too tired i'll sleep too much. second we all know how food consumption is positively correlated with the level of stress. the combo of the two resulted in me feeling physically growing horizontally. and the scale served to confirm this... in just 2 days, it's now -2kg i.e. from 12th to 15th, i gained 4kg. bloody hell.
so very determined to right the wrong, especially now the exams are over, i went to UIA after asar, and even after a few days of absence, i did 10 laps, with a lap of brisk walk on the 7th lap to catch some breath and a sip of water. i didn't check the time because i didn't want to psychologically made myself tired if i know i ran too fast. it worked... 45 minutes of workout. and i still haven't had anything for the day.
for dinner, i bought a piece of ayam berempah and begedel. RM3.50. nasi from yesterday's. still unfinished even after tonight. because my brother still hasn't got back.
now, to the things that i must do:
1. accounts update.
2. planner update. and that includes travel plans. KB perhaps? subject to the accounts of course.
3. cooking update. also, subject to the accounts update. how much dine out can we still afford.
4. shopping update. another one subject to the accounts. i need eye glasses, belt, socks, underpants (haha kena ke sebut ni?)... apa lagi?
5. house cleaning. especially before my parents come back.
6. rambutan swing. invitations to pluck rambutan right from the tree in our backyard. haha.
7. ... demn. i push down no.8 from this spot because i wanted to include something. but 5 seconds after emptying this line, i forgot what i actually wanted to write. wth.
8. final push.
final push is basically the last effort to slim down tremendously for the final days before my parents come back. eventhough the reading now is horrible, i can't say the past 25 days are wasted. those periods have contributed in a 'recipe' that is almost 'bulletproof': one meal a day, and daily workout. it really works. the only stumbling block was weekends... the first weekend of DDD, the brothers treated us with big meals. the second week, it was Eid. third week, my sister came back as the unlimited fund manager. fourth week, exams... and many late night football matches that needed junkies as rations.
now that i have nothing else to do except perhaps the travel plans, i would go all the way now. shall change the sole meal from dinner to lunch, and will try anytime possible to do morning exercises as well.
wish me luck. now i want to finalize the accounts to-date.

bittersweet
ngeh. ngeeehhhh. >.<

MAN CITY'S DEFENCE LACKS ORGANIZATION
Bolton's pre-match video briefing against Man City (Bolton scored 3 goals. must be one helluva video)
song review: lima belas.
this 20 (!!!) year old... what should i call her? a girl? lady? woman? nevertheless she's not that old when her songs first started going on the mainstream... started with "teardrops on my guitar", and her songs in my iPod is counting.
did you know that she's nominated for 8 grammys? 8, for grammy's sake! 2 less than the one with the most number of nomination, Beyonce (perhaps Kanye West has a valid point). even Coldplay couldn't manage that number of nominations after so many 'beautiful' albums. this girl is just only 20.
by the way have you heard the song fifteen? ah wrong question. have you "listened" to the song?
what i noticed about her songs' theme is basically lovey-dovey, high school-type love story. jiwang, bak kata orang muda zaman sekarang. cinta monyet, i would say. but definitely capturing the hearts of many young souls due to that.
if you asked me why her songs are accummulating in my iPod, i think it's because it's nice to hear, not listened. i think she's quite a genius. remember, 8 grammy nominations. i have no idea if there's any message that she's trying to convey.
until, this morning, i heard the song Fifteen. and since it's morning the mind is quite clear to accept things, i listened. hey there's quite some messages in there.
go google for the lyrics.
teenagers out there, are you listening?
* * * * * * * * * * *
if Nur Kasih can get all the accolades for whatever they have done, Fifteen shouldn't be too different. if you listen the song with your hearts.
...but in your life you'll do things greater than dating the boy of the football team. but I didn't know it at fifteen...
...Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday. but I realized some bigger dreams of mine...
ah, you really should listen to the whole song. i'm not treating the song fairly by just cropping some parts and pasted them here.
and oh, apparently it's her birthday today. haha! although this post has nothing to do with that fact.

DDD Weekend 4
for those lucky enough to be in the state of Selangor (but unfortunate enough to pay RM220 more than their KL counterparts if they're getting married), their weekends started earlier than the rest. friday is the beginning of their long weekends. macam orang Kelantan pun ada, cuti jumaat.
me? my home address is KL, but border of Selangor is less than 1km away... my primary school's sports teams play in MSS Selangor. as i have no history of anything in between, the next stop is my uni campus, which is situated in Wangsa Maju or Setapak, both in KL.
but i won't say i'm unlucky because of that... had it not been for the fact that it wasn't public holiday, where would i go to study on Friday for my exams?
but what actually happened was i followed the neighbouring state's dwellers in starting my weekend a bit earlier... DDD was on holiday for that day!!!
and it was not ordinary break. i had breakfast of kuey teow goreng (agak berminyak lagi) and a can of 7 up Revive (RM3.50 + RM1.50), then had lunch of sweet n' sour chicken chop noodle (RM4), all at our uni cafe... lama tak pegi. malam pulak we went to that food court (pusat penjaja namanya) behind shell and all those late night bazaar in Danau Kota. i had Nasi Goreng Kampung and len chee kang (RM4 and RM2.50 respectively), while my brother had chicken chop (RM7.50) with ABC (RM2.50).
i don't really know... RM4 for nasi goreng kampung, is that the normal rate? but i felt quite full, i think the portion is quite a lot, eventhough i can't really back that claim. could possibly be the len chee kang also. it tastes quite good too, both nasi goreng kampung and len chee kang. maybe i'll check out the place again.
oh, for lunch i gave RM10 to my brother. turned out he paid RM7 for his meal. tak dengar nasihat langsung, orang suruh bajet, dia pegi bantai.
oh i forgot to mention. all this was using the cash i withdrew the day before. RM200, of which RM50 gone to the car for petrol.
* * * * * *
all those was yesterday. today, i didn't have anything. the one paper i sat in the afternoon helped too.
but the paper didn't help my emotional cause... it was not the best i could have done, so i was stressed. so i decided to check out the JJ Chain... i left home RM73 less. for a 5/8 (its real description) pants.
i think that's quite a bargain... Nike is 20% off RM159, Adidas is 20% of RM149, and mine, a puma, is of the same discount rate. and it's the type of track pants that i really like because it's cotton inside and not of the mesh type, so it's comfortable. i've been looking for that kind of pants for a long time, so just now i can't contain myself (but i managed to restrain from buying unnecessarily). afterall, it's one of the things that i really NEED (among others are spectacles, socks and belt), and not just want out of pure 'lust'.
my brother went out (probably armed with more than the RM9 i left him), so i just helped myself with more chicken nuggets (7 pieces) and some fries for dinner. i'm thinking of going out later (it's 10pm now) to buy some rations for the late night kick-off featuring Man Utd and Aston Villa (common' Villains!). and these rations are usually of the unhealthy type. sigh.
oh, anyway. due to that one day break, the scale went back to -5kg. demn.

oh, anyway. due to that one day break, the scale went back to -5kg. demn.

DDD Day 24
for 3rd/4th day in a row, the scale refused to move.
shoot. what more must i do? not eat at all?
* * * * * * * * * * *
that was in the morning, after all the morning chores. quite disappointed. felt hopeless. nak putus asa. nak tarik diri. orang penat tak makan ape2 dah 3-4 hari. takde beza?
however, the mind persisted, throughout the day. circumstances helped a bit... the wallet was cashless, and it was too hot outside to go out for lunch, the air-conditioned library was the place to stay instead of going to the nearest ATM. the tummy grumbled almost all the day. but i think that's just a psychological thing.
i left campus at around 4.30, because thursday is supposed to be tennis-day. but no one was there at the KTAR tennis courts. after 5 minutes waiting (because time is a precious commodity, with less than 20 days of DDD left), i decided to leave for UIA for the now-routine jogging workout.
oh, one thing worth a word. for some reasons, today the guards at UIA decided to check on the visitors. and when it came to my turn, as the guard saw nothing of the sort of identification of UIA staff or student on the windscreen, he stopped the car. and asked.
"where are you going?"
dan terjadilah perbualan ringkas.
"pegi jumpa kawan"
"kawan?"
"dkat (mahallah/asrama) Ali"
"Ali?"
"a'ah"

i have no idea why he started conversing in English in the first place. could it be that i really look like a foreigner?
anyway. due to the unforgiving weather (yes this is an excuse if you still couldn't figure it out), i could only manage 5+1 laps today, but at 3:40 on each of it. but it was really really hot, my throat dried up after every 2 laps, i need constant rehydration. but of course that's quite impossible. hence the reduction of almost half from yesterday's.
as for the meal... i left RM5 to my brother for his lunch. as for dinner, we just tapau-ed Nasi Lemak Marvellous... RM8 for 2 nasi lemak, one with chicken, another with begedel, we shared all.
minutes before i wrote this, when i stepped on the scale, it's almost -6kg, or maybe already there. 1 stone lost!
so i shall give myself another week, at least, to see the real effect of this starving regime.

the best thing to lose when you're dieting is your belt. no matter what actually happened, the trousers will always feel loose, like you've slimmed down a whole lot.
the bad thing is, you have to find a new belt. not that favourable especially when you're on quite a strict budget.

DDD Day 23
i'm incredibly sleepy, but tomorrow i want to wake up early. so i shall keep this one brief.
today's only meal is RM55. dinner at BBQ Chicken. my brother had jerk, i had charbroiled chicken with fried rice and coleslaw. and a little col-pop (chicken popcorn with soft drink).
as for workout, i improved from yesterday's 6+1 to 9+2 laps. like yesterday, i first did 6 (a minimum target set), but in a more consistent time of 4 mins per lap. then an out-lap to have a little drink, then in-lap (or the water will be vomited out), before doing 3 more laps at 3:50 each, before i pulled out because the crowd was getting more and more, it looks similar to people tawaf (circling) around Ka'aba, except this case it's around the athletic tracks.
the scale stays at -5kg, for some reasons.

DDD Day 22
even after last night's excursion to Nasi Lemak Kampung Baru, where i had 3 packs of nasi lemak (albeit of very tiny portion... it's only 70c per pack), the reading for the day is still -5kg.
however, around noon, i had this very strong urge from within to eat. something. anything. i had never felt this kind of sensation, if i can use that word, before. it's kinda weird. i bet it can be attributed to a) the excessive amount of workout yesterday, or b) complacency, because the first milestone (there's another 2 supposedly) has already been reached.
i came back home from the library and made myself 6 pieces of nuggets and some fries. like a few days ago. i'm hoping that it won't make too great of a negative effect. there's no rice or chicken or beef, so it shouldn't pose a problem... me thinks.
then after asar, i went to UIA, and did some jogging. after consecutive sessions of only 3 laps before i pulled out exhausted, i set myself 2 targets... a bit far-fetched would be to do 10 laps, the more realistic is 5 laps. or even that is unrealistic?
i did 6, with another lap to cool down (just walking). i stopped after sixth because the lap time is slowly, well, slowing down. it started with 3:50 (quite a leisurely pace... used to do 3:20, for quite a few laps), after 3 laps it's 4:00, by the last lap, it was 4:10. so i pulled out and did the 'out-lap'.
so that's just 30 minutes of workout. actually after a 10 minutes of rest, i could have gone back to the tracks and do another 5 laps to achieve the aforementioned target. but since i'm never a fan of jogging/running, i decided to go back and do some Fifa10 instead. seriously, jogging/running is really boring. i can easily do 2 hours of basketball or tennis, or 3 hours of table-tennis. but 1 hour of running? nah. not my cup of tea.
anyway. for dinner, since my sister has gone back to where she belongs, we had to make our own way for meals. so we went out to some mamak, because suddenly i craved for something goreng-goreng. i ordered kuey teow goreng double (RM4.20) with telur mata kerbau (RM0.80), but the kuey teow goreng is far from the usual something-goreng mamak... it's so not dry! just so that you don't get cheated when you wanted a normal kuey teow goreng, please don't go to d'mamak corner, near Melati Utama. haha.
anyhow. to the financial part. so my food was RM5, my brother's briyani + ayam is RM5.50. my teh o' ais is RM1.20, his milo ais is RM1.70. altogether the bill is RM13.60, and this shall go to the long-dormant account.
oh, i also pumped in petrol worth RM6 for my scooter.
heh, i haven't updated our account yet.

Umpama Mimpi dalam Mimpi
hm, adakah aku akan mengikut pengaruh bojol dalam mencintai irama muzik Melayu old-skool (definitely not classic... classic would be like "Seri Mersing, lagu lah Melayu, di karang oleh biduan dahulu"), dengan tiba2 menggunakan title lagu lama sebagai title post ini?
not really. but it has some relations to what i briefly want to talk about.
after admittedly long sessions of workout yesterday, i slept like a log (although still interrupted at 6.05am, 6.30am (a set time, because i didn't want the snooze to be activated at 6.14am), and 8.30am), almost for 9 hours. that's a bit too much, isn't it?
throughout, i had quite a number of dreams with different themes. and like many dreams, there isn't much that i can recall. apart from the most recent before i woke up.
to summarize it, the dream was about me having a feeling on a friend's best friend (sungguh "cinta terlarang" kalau camtu), and a friend of mine is engaged to her (first or second) cousin, who is also an acquaintance of mine.
dreams can really make you wonder, can they not? maybe it is just a devil's play, but who knows if they really mean something?

DDD 3rd Weekend
i think after 3 consecutive weeks, we can safely presume that, every weekends, DDD will not follow its own regime of strict diet. on saturday i managed to control myself from taking lunch, mainly because of my own doing the night before by eating yong tau foo. but on sunday, i had some lunch, before later having dinner at my brother's place... around 1 1/2 plate of rice with 2 rather small pieces (i think equivalent to the size of a piece from any kedai nasi campur) of chicken rendang. and around 2 slices of chocolate indulgence.
so, what did i do today, monday?
2 hours of basketball from 9 to 11am.
no breakfast, no lunch.
around 30-40 minutes of leisurely tennis, before the rain came.
i can't feel any better than that. so for dinner, i went to Nasi Lemak Kg. Baru with Ajak, because Murni SS2 is closed for some reasons. if you know the place, i had 3 packs of nasi lemak, an a piece of chicken. with 2 glasses of drinks. just a little celebration, with an old pal.
i arrived home to see that the reading is now -5kg. regardless of what i just had, that was still quite a milestone =)
oh, to the financial details. due to the presence of my sister, the money hasn't gone anywhere. except for RM50 spent on RM40 of petrol and RM10 of prepaid credits, on saturday. to date, i think i've used half of the fuel, first to my brother's place in Shah Alam, then just now to return a library book at PJ.
and oh, just now for dinner, without knowing, Ajak actually paid for everything except my 2nd glass of Sirap Ais, which is RM1.20. hehs. thanks bro.

not the first time.
go to my facebook profile. i have posted something there.
digi has come up with a brand new ad. and the background song is like the best i've ever heard on this shore.
i am now demanding digi to back the artiste to release it as a single to our local music scene. if TM can do it with "thru my window", then why not digi?

DDD Day 18
the scale for the day is -4.5kg. the no-lunch-for-you is reaaallllyyyy working!
however, i had something prior to the non-existent lunch today. i ate around 4 pieces of banana fritters (pisang goreng). hopefully that won't bring much effects.
as for dinner, i helped myself on a plate of rice with 1 1/2 pieces of chicken (not 1 1/2 whole chicken) and sayur lodeh from last weekends' Eid. and my sister and brother just came back from pasar malam. i'll contain myself, don't worry.
i don't know if this is going to be of any effect. but A-21-1 dwellers have just started their own diet regime too. at least now i have companies.

DDD Day 17
if you read Jeffrey Archer's Prison Diary, all 3 volumes, you'll see some familiar feat that has been going on in my own diary of diet, DDD.
which is, the diary will now just report on the most important details, and maybe some other happenings of the day that's worth to be highlighted.
Day 17 started with a rather late awakening i.e. i woke up late. but not so late until i missed classes. all because of the late night activities the night before. late night movie, and then watched my brother "be(comes) a pro" at Manchester City. in FIFA10. until around 3am. (because the PS3 is in my room)
... and i thought somebody said something about keeping it brief and simple?
anyhow. due to the needs for tennis, i made myself 6 pieces of chicken nuggets and some fries, at around 4pm. although, come to think about it, that's more due to the fact that i was at home -hence access to fridge- than due to tennis.
from 5.10 to 6.45pm, we played tennis. not too intense, because there were three of us. and with me being the least skillful of all, there wasn't a time where i was alone on one side of the court.
my sister came back home. so we went out for dinner, at Kenny Rogers. i had 1/4 roasted chicken (so it's a much healthier choice. haha) with beef bolognese pasta. and 2 glasses of Sprite. not so healthy, must be lots of sugar in there.
and oh, a vanilla muffin of course! :D
best part is, my sister paid for the bill. i paid for the parking though. RM1.
today's reading of the scale is -3.5kg. seems like the starvation is really working.
must. not. eat. lunch. at. all.

mengapa saya tiba2 terdetik untuk bercakap mengenai kisah ini? kerana Im Koyube posted like one long email in iluvislam.com crews' YG commenting how he decided to find out what is really the hype surrounding the tv show by going on a 26-episodes dramathon in just one day, which is quite a remarkable feat (on telly, it's a one-hour show, albeit with commercials). and later gave some of his own personal opinions, before suggesting us to watch it too.
kemudian, cik zaffan pula posted an entry, like a whole entry dedicated on Nur Kasih, although she already made a draft for that one for quite some time already.
habis tu? crappy gila takde kualiti? tipikal cerita buatan tempatan?
tak juga. to quote zaffan, "Saya sendiri jatuh cinta.
(not in any order).
tetapi ini adalah satu konflik yang saya kurang dapat terima. satunya, hipokrasi si pelakon yang boleh memakai dan menanggalkan tudung sesuka hati. you may argue that this is just a case of "pot calling a kettle black", but let's not go there first shall we.
then, you may also argue that this should just be a personal case against the actress, and i should not hate the series. well, that's true. but.
heh, there's always a but when we talk about something like this.
but jika benar niat si pembuat cerita (or whatever the real term for this) adalah untuk berdakwah berlandaskan syariat, pastinya perkara2 sebegini boleh dielakkan. alasan saya ialah, matlamat tidak menghalalkan cara, itu satu. satu lagi, boleh je kot kalau nak substitute adegan itu dengan satu adegan yang lain yang lebih elok i.e. dapat mengelak dari menampakkan aurat seseorang.
contoh: instead of berborak2 dengan rakan di dalam bilik, mungkin boleh dibuat mereka berbual2 di kafe UIA (kafe Ali? haha. murah nih. sedap juga. recommended.). atau jika hal yang diborakkan begitu private dan memerlukan mereka berbincang di satu tempat yang ada privasi, mungkin boleh dibuat mereka pergi ke satu tempat dan berborak di dalam kereta (which shouldn't take long... in the show they were talking for less than 10 minutes). ataupun keluar ke kedai makan di mana2 (secret recipe di Melati Utama ke), dimana tak menjadi masalah jika anda ingin berborak2 perihal apa pun, takde sape2 ingin mendengar apa yang kalian bincangkan.
maka, ia membuatkan saya berfikir. adakah ia betul2 satu usaha dakwah, atau sekadar satu usaha pengusaha industri hiburan raking profit from the ever growing market for whatever that has anything to do with "islam"?
by the way, ini bukan satu conspiracy theory. ini hanyalah isi hati seorang individu yang tidak percaya dengan industri hiburan tanah air selain Raihan dan Rabbani dan lain2 artis nasyid yang underground.
namun, walaupun selepas panjang lebar saya cuba perjelaskan antara sebab2 saya kurang gemar dengan Nur Kasih, saya rasa akar umbi masalahnya ialah kebencian saya dengan drama tv. baik tempatan mahupun hollywood (except House MD) or even bollywood. basically saya tidak gemar drama. if it's called a drama, then it is drama. try to make it as real as possible, but it's still just a drama. drama, drama! mengapakah kita perlukan elemen ini dalam hidup kita? penting sangat ke?
anyway. maka oleh sebab itu semualah, saya tidak gemar dengan drama tv bertajuk Nur Kasih. hence tidak dapat appreciate apa2 pun kebaikan mahupun teladan yang ada dari kisah tersebut.
sekian.

but jika benar niat si pembuat cerita (or whatever the real term for this) adalah untuk berdakwah berlandaskan syariat, pastinya perkara2 sebegini boleh dielakkan. alasan saya ialah, matlamat tidak menghalalkan cara, itu satu. satu lagi, boleh je kot kalau nak substitute adegan itu dengan satu adegan yang lain yang lebih elok i.e. dapat mengelak dari menampakkan aurat seseorang.
contoh: instead of berborak2 dengan rakan di dalam bilik, mungkin boleh dibuat mereka berbual2 di kafe UIA (kafe Ali? haha. murah nih. sedap juga. recommended.). atau jika hal yang diborakkan begitu private dan memerlukan mereka berbincang di satu tempat yang ada privasi, mungkin boleh dibuat mereka pergi ke satu tempat dan berborak di dalam kereta (which shouldn't take long... in the show they were talking for less than 10 minutes). ataupun keluar ke kedai makan di mana2 (secret recipe di Melati Utama ke), dimana tak menjadi masalah jika anda ingin berborak2 perihal apa pun, takde sape2 ingin mendengar apa yang kalian bincangkan.
maka, ia membuatkan saya berfikir. adakah ia betul2 satu usaha dakwah, atau sekadar satu usaha pengusaha industri hiburan raking profit from the ever growing market for whatever that has anything to do with "islam"?
by the way, ini bukan satu conspiracy theory. ini hanyalah isi hati seorang individu yang tidak percaya dengan industri hiburan tanah air selain Raihan dan Rabbani dan lain2 artis nasyid yang underground.
namun, walaupun selepas panjang lebar saya cuba perjelaskan antara sebab2 saya kurang gemar dengan Nur Kasih, saya rasa akar umbi masalahnya ialah kebencian saya dengan drama tv. baik tempatan mahupun hollywood (except House MD) or even bollywood. basically saya tidak gemar drama. if it's called a drama, then it is drama. try to make it as real as possible, but it's still just a drama. drama, drama! mengapakah kita perlukan elemen ini dalam hidup kita? penting sangat ke?
anyway. maka oleh sebab itu semualah, saya tidak gemar dengan drama tv bertajuk Nur Kasih. hence tidak dapat appreciate apa2 pun kebaikan mahupun teladan yang ada dari kisah tersebut.
sekian.

DDD Day 16
i can't believe it's already Day 16. because there really isn't much change.
i stepped on the scale in the morning and it improved a tiny bit to -2.5kg.
then there's no activity at all. until when i had dinner today, at some Japanese place in Bukit Bintang.
for the diet record, i had Unajyo Zen i.e. Eel with rice. with the egg, and Miso soup.
and another record would be that it was exactly 24 hours between that dinner and the last meal that i had yesterday.
pretty cool, huh? and the best part is i didn't feel anything! but then again that could be due to the fact that i hadn't had anything to do for the past 2 days (it's also 2 consecutive days of just one meal -dinner- a day) other than attending classes. tomorrow i have tennis, if God's willing i.e. there's no rain. we'll see how that one go.
i have doubts that i can survive that without any sorts of difficulties. to quote a friend, when i decided to join him climb a nearby hill for trekking one morning, "you think you're a camel ah?". maybe i'll have some cereals for breakfast. just to give some extra energy. eventhough i don't have milk to go with the cornflakes and koko krunch.
oh, anyway. the bills was RM0 today for me, because the dinner was on my own savings, like i usually do whenever i eat out with friends i.e. i use my own money. i gave my brother RM50 for dinner. and hopefully for many more meals for many more days to come. eversince i skipped lunch, he had to survive on his own. not that he has any problems with that.
and oh, we went out to watch Ninja Assassin. for the first time in many years, i think i can't conclude if i love or hate that movie. crappy story lines (like really really sucks), and the lead actor ("nama saya Rain") is very stony whenever he's not doing the action parts. however, no thanks to that double dose of Kill Bill at CBB Oxford one fine summer night in 2007, i kinda like all the gory parts. and seriously, i think the fighting parts are quite cool, albeit with too much of red syrups flying all over.
and, demn, Rain is so slim. even slender, maybe?
so, the verdict. go watch if you're craving to go to the cinemas in the near future but have nothing else available. otherwise, i'd suggest you wait for Disney's The Princess and the Frog only next week.

DDD Day 15
as planned, i managed to starve myself for the first 16 hours of the day. until i made myself a plate of fries at around 4.
and just now i had a plate of rice, with a rather large piece of chicken; in Nando's it's the 1/4 chicken. i didn't have it with vegie because the sayur lodeh that was stored in the freezer couldn't be defrosted in time... by the time the microwave chimes, i'm almost done, and there are still frost on the sayur.
for dinner, we spent RM10 for that nasi putih with chicken for me, and spaghetti with chicken (of the same size. but cooked with different recipe). my brother was rather impressed with the price of the food at UIA's cafe. "dkat Shah Alam, RM10 dapat spaghetti dengan ayam je."
if possible we will go there everyday. anything that can help us reduce costs.
anyway. just a note about the 'fasting'. give me around 3 days, and hopefully we'll see some effects. however one thing that i want to mention is that, when you don't eat anything, the mouth becomes smelly. that's the only negative thing that i can think of.
i'm thinking of getting a stock of clorets or dentyne. unless you have a better idea.

DDD reincarnation
the food on Eid completely destroyed all my previous efforts from all the DDDs. yesterday, the day everything went to normal after 3 continuous days of festive food, the scale showed a reading of 0kg. total obliteration of the previous efforts. today, miraculously, it was -2kg. so just a little bit of increase compared to before that. but an increase nevertheless.
shall we start all over again? because of the festive period, i didn't keep track of my eat, at all. however, yesterday i did. Day 14, i had nasi impit for lunch, with rendang daging and a piece of ayam gulai. i helped myself for a second time. so that was not good.
then we went out to Bukit Bintang. RM4 is spent on parking fees.
for dinner, we had rice with 3-piece of KFC together with sayur lodeh and kuah gulai (ayamnya dah habis). the chickens cost us RM9.50.
hm, the spending has gone un-recorded for the past few days. maybe i should recall on where the money goes.
how much have i spent from my allocated allowance? macam dah terlebih.
anyway. today, tuesday. i plan to starve myself, surviving only on drinks, and just a meal. i'll keep you posted.

- some RM240 were spent on that Zara warehouse sale. that was on my own savings, not from the allocated allowance.
- RM30 were spent on petrol to go to Mak Long's place. another RM50 were spent on topping up TnG, of which RM20 is from the RM50 i gave to my brother a couple of days ago.
- withdrawn RM350 yesterday. FIFA10 cost me RM160, and further updates for PSP (to ver. 5.50) is RM90, GT:PSP and Assassin Creed is RM5 each. bought 2GB Pro Duo Memory Stick for RM58.
- so, all the entertainment spending of course will come from my own wallet. the remainder goes to my brother, who initially asked for RM50, but has to use some of it to back my initial allocation of RM300 for all those games.
